Inniscrone Golf Club. In recent years, few courses in the Philadelphia region have undergone as many changes as Inniscrone Golf Club – changes in ownership, management, golf professionals and alterations to the layout.

Opened in 1997 as an upscale, private club, as well as one of Gil Hanse’s earliest designs, today Inniscrone is a municipal course, owned by London Grove Township and managed by Heathland Hospitality Group.

Golf’s Golden Dropout: Jordan Speith. UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — Well before Jordan Spieth was fitted for a Masters green jacket in April, he acquired a nickname from a few PGA Tour players, who took one look at his pinchable face, impeccable manners and bulletproof game and anointed him the Golden Child.

His other peer group, consisting of friends he grew up with in Dallas, gave him a different nickname. Taking note that he left the University of Texas midway through his sophomore year to try his luck as a professional golfer, his childhood clique took to calling him the College Dropout.

Jaworski’s Grand Re-opening for Downingtown CC. In a time when more golf courses are closing than opening, Ron Jaworski is bullish on the game. The former Eagles QB has quietly become the largest owner/operator in the region, with a portfolio of six courses.

In the past month Jaws and his investors added Downingtown CC to their stable of courses. Designed in the mid-1960s by architect and former PGA Tour player George Fazio, Downingtown is a 6,619-yard, par 72 parkland layout.
