Back in the late spring, I got an email from
Jack Rowe, co-chair of the Green Committee at Whitemarsh
Valley CC. He was eager to show off
the results of renovations that had been on-going at Whitemarsh
since 2011. Phase 1 and Phase
2 – the heavy lifting – were complete; Phase 3 will be completed in the coming months.
I’ve always been a fan of Whitemarsh,
in Lafayette Hill, host of the old IVB Golf Classic on the PGA Tour, so I
jumped at the chance. I shot a lot
of video that day. But because it
was one of my earliest efforts behind the camera, I struggled with what to
shoot and, afterward, how to edit the results into a coherent video that did
justice to all they’ve done at Whitemarsh. (For comparison, check out the Bausch
Collection gallery from before the renovations.)
I worked on that video for a couple of weeks,
off and on. Finally, not satisfied,
I set it aside, to be finished later, when my iMovie editing skills had
improved. That was in early
June.
Yesterday, doing a little end-of-the-year
computer housecleaning, I spotted the Whitemarsh video
sitting on my backup hard drive. I
gave it another look and started playing around with it.
Here are the results:
